Ok weirdness galore. I'm posting from a friend's computer and somehow it wasn't taking the updates. Blogbuddy to the rescue. I love this utility and have it on the laptop. Now I'm able to post. Got several good leads for jobs here, so I am happy. Eager to work and find a place of my own. My hosts are gracious but I don't want to overstay my welcome. Rainy and stormy down here but hey, I like rainy and stormy. No freaking humidity. AC and Cable Modem damnit! I'm in heaven. Florida's Democratic primary is a joke. First the general election, now the primaries. None dare call it a conspiracy. Heheh. I miss my friends back home, but theres work to do here. Later.

So here we are. Whorelando, Floriduh. What a strange trip this day was. I didn't sleep at all so I was checking some emails when the crew that's remodeling my mother's bathroom broke a pipe. I almost had enough water for a shower and I ended up shaving at my grandma's. I glad I did get a chance to visit her. Ran some errands for her after shaving, gave her a big kiss and a big hug then I left for home. I switched some contents of my suitcases and brought them as part of my carry on luggage. Father screamed something at me and I just stayed quiet, focused. I was leaving home. No one was stopping me. The time came and Al came to pick me up. He offered to drive me to the airport. As soon as I began to say goodbye to dad, he started crying a bit. This is the second time I've seen my old man cry in my life. The first time we were mad at each other too. I left the house to stay with some friends at the time and when it was time to leave, he cried. That fucked me up bad, but my decision was made. I have to take control of my life. I called this friend of mine earlier at her job, she called we talked, promised to stay in touch. Good woman. Then Mom came, gave me some money but she was angry at me and my decision and started to throw things in my face, in a manner of speaking. I was about to tell her that that's one of the reasons I was getting the hell out, but held myself in check. I wasn't going to humor her stooping down to her level. Let he deal with that. Off to the airport.

Not many people were there, not surprisingly. Got my luggaged checked and searched, then the wait. All my electronics were on the carry on and I got stopped but to their credit, they were fast, polite and I answered their questions. The flight was bumpy and kinda long. I guess the two hour wait plus the three hour flight took their toll. I was lucky to have a row of seats to myself. I tried to sleep but couldn't. I was amazed that after all this years that I've travelled flying still keeps me on my toes. Insomnia, the wait and the flight were keeping me awake but in a daze. When the plane finally touched down I was relieved. Rafy picked me up, then we drove to his house to meet Nuria. Rafy's a former bandmate and a friend. Nuria's a friend I used to club with. I got them together, they married. I was the best man at their wedding. We got to the house and then we went to eat out. I chose Sonic to renew my Sonic fix. R & N chose Subway. We talked and ate queso manchego. Yummy. Haven't had that in a while. Then we talked about music, gossip, strategy and whatnot. On the way to the apartment I called home but as usual they don't have the time to even get a pen and paper to write down a number. *Sighs* All in all a very long day. Night.

Ok this is it. Fate throws a wrench to gum up the works, but I'm going steady. A date for to take a test and then an interview. Tomorrow morning, things will be resolved. So either I stay for a little while longer or I leave. Some things tie me up to the island but at the end, I have to do this for me. No one else. So I think that I might take that plane after all.

What do you want me to say about today that hasn't been played to overkill by the major media outlets? Well actually I've got three things to say: 1. Was it worth pissing our hard earned rights away. 2. Have we succeded in all the military actions to get Bin Laden? 3. Does all the killing we've done in the name of this war against terror bring back any of the people we lost at the WTC, the Pentagon and over Pennsyvannia? 4. Has the US become a better nation because of this? 5. Has the US and it's people realized that this attack is a response to our goverment policies worldwide? I think you know the answer and I'll state it anyway: No.

It takes courage to defend and take a stand for your country, but it also takes courage to criticize it when your country fucks up. Of course it's easier for everyone to label people who criticize the current state of affairs. Even better to dismiss them or call them the enemy. It takes guts to be able to accept what's wrong with this country. Tell the truths people don't want to hear. 9/11 was a reality check. The damage we inflict as a result of our policies came home. We have to deal with it and we have to be able to realize that we're not the only ones here. Until we realize that, things are going to get ugly for all of us.

The US's chief weapons inspector in Iraq had the courage to tell the truth about all the hoopla about Saddam Hussein. Sorry Mr. Rumsfeld if you want to justify you and Dubya's warmongering, you'll have to look elsewhere. Yet in true Republican fashion we go to war in order to set a smokescreen to hide the real problems in this country. Business as usual.

Met my Grandma today. Probably for the last time. She's not my Grandma by blood, but she helped to raise my Mom and looked after us like we were her grandchildren. They did so much for us I don't know how to repay her, but I'll sure try. I almost cried when we were talking. I always wanted her to meet my fiancee or my wife. Shit! I don't know if I will manage to do it, but I'll try. She deserves that and more.I probably won't see my dad either. He's very sick. He lived a full life so when he passes I won't miss him as much. Still, I want him to know when things get better and successful with me. Just to make him proud. Well he has my half-brother and my younger bro to be proud of. I want him to go happy. Enough rants.

Therapy? - Innocent X - Caucasian Psychosis

Is this real or is it a dream?
I can't seem to tell the difference anymore
Caught between needings
And the need to be real
Your open arms gaping
Like a busted sore

I turn and burn
my back like a rack
Your tourniquet twists me
Dangerous red
I breath in the air
It's pavement gray
It shrinks my skin
And I've done nothing wrong

I drop to my knees and work my skin
I feel this life pumping right through me
Love and death die on the dirty floor
Your upturned face doesn't even see

That this is all
I'll ever have
Cause I don't know
What I want
But something inside
Something inside
Something inside
I've done nothing wrong

Very eclectic and very cool playlist. We had lots of fun in the show and a lot of responses. Much love to the guys at the show. Cheo, Eze, Iohann and Angelito made it all possible and worthwhile. We had lots of fun. I am gonna miss you so much you fuckers have no idea. Lots of love and keep up the good work.

Afterwards, this woman and I went to Zabor to watch Herman aka The Man Searching For Fun spin with another DJ. I was pleasantly surprised to find Pri and Bea there. Bea gave birth to Mauro a beautiful boy recently. Pri was back from the UK. It was really nice to see them. Carlitos and Bea bought me a Rum and Coke and this woman and I talked a lot about ourselves, what we want, what we look for. She told me some stuff that really touched me is that she appreciated me because she could be herself and not worry about anything at all when I was around, that I made her laugh and that she appreciated my friendship. I just smiled. That made my evening. Then I went home, got the new battery for my laptop so I'm charging it while I'm writing this. Anyway, off to bed. Tomorrow I begin to prepare for my flight on Wendesday.

Night.

Let's see....
.
Yesterday a good friend and I shared some tears over the phoneline. I guess we realized how much shit we've taken recently but also we found strength in each other which was good. I was a bit worried about her but she's fine.

Went out to pay some bills with this bloody heat. Fuck! It was a short hop, thank God. I went back took care of some ignoramuses and then off to a movie with a friend.
I went to the movies with this girl I haven't seen in years. Francisco brought her to the station last week and we were both stunned. She's much better than when I last saw her so we agreed to go to watch Insomnia. Saw it twice but being the nice guy that I am, I saw it with her. Made her laugh a lot before the movie. Afterwards we went for some beers. It was good seeing her. Talked about lots of things and she's still gorgeous.

Got home with a bit of a pain in the stomach. I don't know why. Taking care of it. Kinda weird if you ask me.

Tomorrow's my last show at the station. Killer playlist. All requests. Good nonethless. Hopefully it will all be alright. Now if I can somehow get some rest.....

Forgot to mention...... Thursday night I dreamt of CJ. CJ's an old college flame. Used to party a lot and enjoyed each other's company. I dreamt that she was supposed to take me to the airport but we were trying to somehow having sex before going there. It was a strange but funny dream. Take care woman. Wherever you are.

Update. Last night I also dreamt about someone close to me from the past but right now I don't know who. Oh well....

The drummer of one of my favorite bands in the whole world passed away. Shit. The good always die young and we have to deal with the mediocre and the really awful. I will play some of their songs on the show this weekend. This weekend's playlist is shaping up to be the shiznit. Nice way of leaving the show.

Just finished watching "Last House On The Left". Brilliant slice of cheese. Luisma and I decided that a remake is in order. So here are our suggestions for most of the characters and the soundtrack:

The Dr. - John Larroquette
Krug - Vincent Gallo
Weasel - Steve Buscemi
Junior - Seth Green
The Evil Girl - Courtney Love

Vincent Gallo should do the score like David Ness did the original score. Otherwise the soundtrack should go to Revolting Cocks.

After watching Werner Herzog's Nosferatu on DVD, it still confirms my status. Herzog's a sick motherfucker with a sense of humor. Klaus Kinski is still scary and F.W. Murnau would approve. I've seen Aguirre The Wrath Of God and Nosferatu. Probably will have to beef up with Cobra Verde and the rest of Herzog's works. Of course the soundtrack by Popol Vuh is the shiznit. Prime Krautrock. Late period Swans and Angels of Light are ripping them off badly, but nice influence to have. Nice little migraine afterwards, but a nap took care of it. Missed my friends of Icaro Azul on the telly tonight. Sheesh!

Let me tell you how shitty my day's been:

Get up this morning to get some stuff done. The fridge's door won't stay closed. Check that everything is where it should be. The damn thing won't close. Third try now the thing's closed.

I go to the computer to get my emails, surf, grab some ideas for articles and whatnot. Mother's coming again with a last minute plea for me to stay. After a long argument I have to scream at her. "NO. I DONT WANT TO BE HERE. YOU HAD ALL THIS TIME TO DO IT, AND IM SICK OF THIS. I'M OUT. I DON'T WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU. I JUST WANT TO LEAVE AND GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE."

Harsh words, I know but if you spent (or rather wasted) the last 10 months of your life in a place you hated, with all the promises they told you unfulfilled, in a place that you're uncomfortable, you might begin to grasp how bad my situation is. That's not even mentioned all the shit I've taken from my lovely family all this years. No. Sorry. Let them cope with their situation. I just want out of it all. The only one I care about is my little brother and he's happily on his own.

Eze messages me. Today's meeting's been cancelled. Great. I told him I ain't coming on Saturday I want to record 1 hour of music because my friend's bands are playing and it's the last chance I'll have to see them in a while. He says "no" you got the first hour and I want you to do it. Christ almighty! I think I can reach an arrangement with Angelito to see if we can record it Thursday or Friday night. I don't want to be around on Saturday, I'm sorry. I'm not the sentimental type and the last broadcast thing with the FA staff's gonna get sentimental and really gay ;)

This girl messages me and we talk. We've known each other by reputation only and she says she wants to meet me. I tell her "Ok. Great. Go to the station meeting and you'll get to see the station and the guys who run the show." Well with the station meeting cancelled, there won't be much to do right? So after much ado, I ask her to drop by the Borders near my house for a cup of coffee and some conversation.

Meanwhile my buddy Luisma comes over for some conversation about music and movies which is always nice. I go with him for some quick shopping and drops me at my house. I come in, have dinner, trim my haircut, cut the mustache and the goatee. I'm on schedule. Half an hour before our meet. Burned 2 CD's of my music. One for Luisma, the other for the woman I'm meeting.

Call her. She's still at her job. I ask her if she wants to cancel. Says "no no no". Asks me to call her around 20 till 8 to confirm. It's ok for me. Surf a bit. Call her. She's at her house. Tells me she'll get out of the house in 10 mins. I take 20 minutes and make my way to Borders.

40 minutes later, I'm in Borders, very fucking pissed. Sitting in a chair, reading their in-house magazine. I wonder what the hell happened. I call her on my cellphone, and on the third try, the fucking thing ate my minutes. I have to call 611 have them refund the minutes. Fuck it, at this stage I'm heading home. Called her for the last time I'm walking down my street heading towards my house and she tells me she just arrived.

Sorry I start to tell her but I'm going home. I tell her in a very controlled tone that it's bad enough as it is that I had a shitty day and then a long wait. Not this time. She apologizes. The phone goes offline. I'm this short of throwing the phone, kick and curse like nobody's business. Fuck it. I'm heading home. Call her from home. Tell her I didn't mean to hang up on her my phone died. She understands that I'm pretty fucking pissed at this point and apologizes. She had a rough day at work and at this online publication she runs with a bunch of her pals. She asks me when can she make it up for me. I ask her for suggestions. She wants me to tag along with her friends on Friday night. No. Not my style. I don't like going into situations where I'm in a room full of strangers. (I know I'm in a band but it's a whole different game there) Besides I might need Friday to record my last show. She can't do it tomorrow, so she settles for Thursday. Thursday it is. I'll ask her to go to the movies. She'll be paying. Let's see if I can get away with that.

Right now I'm upset at this whole day but if I can get away with this girl paying *me* to go to the movies with her, I'll be happy.

So..... How was your day?

Last night I went to a dinner date. It was interesting to say the least. Entertaining. Right now I'm just tired of the week. Can't wait to fly out of here. Fuck. Can't wait for that flight. Aside from that, I watched last night a film called "Birthday Girl". Even though I'm not a fan of Nicole Kidman's body of work, I happen to like her in "To Die For", "The Others" and now "Birthday Girl". I liked that film very much. Rent it.

Ok so I finally spent all night recording a version of the damn ;) song I'm happy with. I added more keyboards, re-recorded the vocals, added some harmonies (ha!) and I guess I'll be happy with this version. I guess this will be the final official verson. Unless I can hook up with Carlitos and have him add some sick guitars of his own. One can always be hopeful right?

If you have problems downloading the stream copy the url of the link above and paste it on Winamp or Real Player. You can also download the file here.

Remember the song below? Well I added vocals now. I'm kinda embarassed because my lovely friend Angelito put them upfront at mixdown. Evil one, he is. Yes, that is my voice normally. I know. Sorry. ;) Well in case you hate it, I'll re-record the vocals at home and put some effects on them or won't put them so in front of the mix. Ha!

Everyday Is Like Sunday...not

Spent the afternoon with my uncle, his girlfriend, her kid and two cousins eating in a fancy schmancy restaurant. It was good to see them, drink a few, trade stories and having a laugh. My cousin D. has a Korean girlfriend and they have a kid too. Cute little tyke. 2 years old. Cute and very nice. Full of energy. His wife works at the restaurant and she's a hard worker. I'm happy for them. My uncle's girlfriend's a nice girl Kid's smart and polite. My other cousin she's a really sweet young lady. Finishing college, working too. It was good to talk to her. We have the same taste in movies so we caught up in movies, stories, gossip, the usual stuff.

It was good to see them. Haven't had a good time with relatives for a long while.

I woke up early today so I think I'll call it a night. Night.

These are some lyrics to a song I wrote last night. So far the song's instrumental, but hopefully I'll record the vocals soon. It's encoded at 32 bits so don't expect a hi-fi stream, but it should give you an indication of things to come. Yeah that's me on all the instruments.

Here's to mullets, drugs and dumbasses. Meet Calvin Montgomery and Michael Headley. The men were just arrested on drug charges after trying to arrange a crack cocaine sale to undercover officers in Oklahoma City. So what separates this case from your standard buy and bust operation? Well, Montgomery, 42, and Headley, 37, were operating from the Biltmore Hotel at the same time 500 cops were attending the Association of Oklahoma Narcotic Enforcers annual training conference at the hotel, according to this probable cause affidavit filed by Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control agent William Diaz. When cops entered the pair's room, they found crack and pot stashes and drug paraphernalia. In addition, Diaz told TSG, the pair had stored $39,000 in cash and travelers checks in the Biltmore's safe. Headley claimed the money came from a recent "insurance settlement." Just a reflection of my mood during this time I've spent back "home". If I ever made a film about 9/11/01, this would be the soundtrack. It'd be a short black and white piece.

"the dead flag blues" - godspeed you black emperor!

the car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
and a dark wind blows
the government is corrupt
and we're on so many drugs
with the radio on and the curtains drawn

we're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
and the machine is bleeding to death

the sun has fallen down
and the billboards are all leering
and the flags are all dead at the top of their poles

it went like this:

the buildings tumbled in on themselves
mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
and pulled out their hair

the skyline was beautiful on fire
all twisted metal stretching upwards
everything washed in a thin orange haze

i said: "kiss me, you're beautiful --
these are truly the last days"

you grabbed my hand and we fell into it like a daydream or a fever

we woke up one morning and fell a little further down --
for sure it's the valley of death

i open up my wallet and it's full of blood

I'm busy having a life again. In the sense of going out, meeting people, rehearsing with Golpe Justo (show tomorrow), watching movies, you know, living. And I'm happier. Much happier. Certain talks remained unspoken. I guess actions speak louder than words. Meanwhile watched "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" an excellent French film. Enjoyed it a lot. Gig tomorrow. Radio show Saturday. Very busy and very happy.

The Weekend:

Friday - @ The Radio Station then went to play with Golpe Justo. The set was short and sweet and I got all this pent up frustration and aggression out. It was beautiful. Pure catharsis.

Saturday @ The movies with Jose Ramon to see Austin Powers Goldmember. Man! Whatta Laugh! Much needed laughter ensued. Afterwards the radio show then waited to see Los Siconautas at 2am. The placed was jam packed so I stepped outside and the sound was much better over there. After the show headed home. Had a nice little chat with a friend then at 6am tried to sleep but the room was so hot. Might as well buy a futon and sleep in the living room.

Maybe play The Cure's "10:15 Saturday Night" or The Sisters Of Mercy's "Nine While Nine" while I'm at it.

Lady Locura is a charm. Funny and witty as hell. I like our little exchanges and verbal (actually written) sparring. Thank you for the laughs and keeping me on my toes.

I was supposed to blog about something and I completely forgot about it.

Los Introdujos want to be part of the Rojo y Negro family and I say: why not?

AYLK record out soon.

Talked to R today. She's quite a lovely person and I hope we'll meet on December if not earlier when she gets back to PR.

Show tomorrow with Golpe Justo. Catharsis. Non stop. Yeah!

Talked to my friend Nuria today too. It was good to receive some feminine insights about realtionships.

And now for something completely different:

Does your weblog own you?

Well....I'm 34 and supposedly I'm 33% gay and I'm Ready For Action when it's time to get down!!!! Wooohoo!!!!!!!!

Yes a much needed break from the usual atmosphere here.

So how was your day?

Mine went downhill about 2pm / 1400 hrs. I IM'ed my friend Noel to confirm today's gig. He's upset, pissed off, says he won't do the gig and he's not doing his events anymore. He's through. I understand. He fells burnt out. I let it go and try to confirm with the bar's owner. Leave three messages. No response. Carlitos calls confirms the gig is a go. That soothes me and the band for now. Still....

I called S. and tell her about the show. Quickly says she's not around (she lives close by the bar) but wishes me luck for the gig. Tries to end the call quickly in a hurry. I said bye. So much for the need to schedule the little talk. I don't know, but it seems this one's pretty much over, isnt it? Still... my buddy Angel tells me S and I should talk anyway. So let's just see.

So end of phonecall. This is the part of the movie when my heart feels empty and very heavy. I take deep breaths. I hit the shower. In the shower I cool off. Showers are good. But there's still this nagging feeling of dread. I can only sense where this is going. My day, such as it is.

Get dressed then call my friend C. to check on her. Her mom's back from Stateside and we talk a bit. C stands for cool calm collected, which she is. I'm in the middle of talking to her when my guitar player, Carlitos calls.

No power at the bar. No gig. Bernice (our singer) calls too. I tell her "I know already." More heaviness. Should we go? I say yes, we've got to go check it out and apologize to the people who actually bothered to go. We do. Bernice and I drive over there. We talk about stuff and then Bernice tells me her feelings about music and hers are similar to mine. We talk a little more and I end up realizing how similar we are in outlook.I end up telling her "You reaize we're so alike that it's scary?" She laughs and we end up joking that we feel miserable but at least we've got each other. Really!

We arrive. There are people outside. Carlitos and Jorge are there too. We show up and hang around for awhile, apologizing to the people who came to see us. Eventually the heat drives us to Candela Bar where there's AC and a female DJ spinning disco and hip hop. Bernice is dancing while Carlitos challenges me to breakdancing. Jorge is gone. Very pissed off. Angel is there too so we talk about the phone conversation and everything else. Bernice asks me if I want to go dancing with her to the club, I say no. I'm not in the mood and I don't want to inflict my mood to the rest of the band or the rest of humanity so I head back home.

Finally met David J and it was good meeting him. Lots of ideas and potential to do some great things in the name of art. He's going to NYC tomorrow and will be back in two weeks. Plenty of time to see if we can work his proposal out for an arts space.

I chat with my friend R for a bit and she's a good listener and a really cool person to have. I can't wait for her to come back here so we can see each other. She's that good.

Aside from that, I got some tests to do tomorrow, papers to pick up, maybe a grant to get a certification and right know I'm blogging to my heart's content.

Show with Golpe Justo on Friday so that means I'll be able to vent all this shit away screaming along with my favorite Puerto Rican hardcore band. Wheee!

So again, how was your day?

Ok children. Support is needed for internet radio and small webcasters to survive. Please take your time and follow this link. It's a petition that will be faxed to your Representative to let him/her know what's going on and make them take steps towards helping small indie webcasters. Let your voice be heard. Don't complain about things if you didn't make an effort to change them.

Rehearsals for the upcoming gig went well. Bernice brought the wine and we brought our insanity. Nice mix. I hope the show goes as planned. Need to talk to S. about things. She said we need to have a chat, and actually we do. Anyway, things are going pretty good in other aspects of my life. S and I are just going out, nothing's happening and I don't think it will, but I guess one must remain hopeful. Let's see what happens after our little chat.

Station meeting tomorrow. Gig on Wendesday. Whoooooooo!

Watched "The Royal Tennembaums" on DVD and "Eight Legged Freaks" with my friends. Much needed laughter. Talked to S. again and we know we need to get together up close and personal and really talk. I still fear the worst, but life has taught me not to assume anything. Still I am hopeful. Now if I could somehow get some sleep. :)

Ok there's a bright spot in all of this:

I just ran into six songs of a band I heard years ago on a Rough Trade sampler. They were called Sweet Jesus. I heard a song called "Phonefreak". Well the full title is "Phonefreak Honey" and I found six of their songs on the net. I was amazed. The other five are just as good and shows how cruel life can be sometimes when a band this good doesn't make it.

Anyway, got their tunes for posterity and also got House Of Love's "I Don't Know Why I Love You" which I've been looking for a while too. If I can get th' Faith Healers' Reptile Smile and Caspar Brotzmann Massaker's Koksofen, I'll be happy.

It's been a year since I started writing this. It's another anniversary of sorts. The more things change.... You can tell it's one of those days. I am sorry. Listening to old New Order, Yazoo and other groups.

All it takes is one misplaced joke and it all goes downhill. Shit. I'm sorry. Here I am expecting the worse. Yeah I know, drama, but I can't help it. Just the thing I need now. I think I fucked it up. For what it's worth you were the best thing that happened to me since I came back here. And now it's all gone wrong. Pray that I'm wrong, that I'm mistaken. It sure feels otherwise. I am sorry.

Went to Old San Juan to see S. She's so beautiful. I liked her dress. Talked a bit while walking around the Old City. Ended up at a free concert and met Mista Dave there. I like her a lot because we can talk about mostly everything and she's funny, witty entertaining. I hope she reads this one because she makes me feel good. Makes me smile and laugh. I miss that a lot. Then she wonders why there's a song named after her. Now you know. Always looking forward to see you. Take care.

Here I am slepless, restless. Again. Tossing, turning. Trying to get some sleep. Something. I don't want to be aware. I don't want to be awake. I don't want to feel. This. Emptiness. Waves of longing. Waves of regret. Things that should be buried surface. Feelings considered done and dealt with. Emerge. And it fucking hurts me. Cause if anything, I don't want this to overtake me again. I have a right to feel happy. With myself. With others. I cannot turn black the clock. I faced the music and dealt with the outcome. Still it comes. And I'd wish I had someone at my side. To kiss. To hold. To caress. To tell me it's alright. That's the past, I'm here for you. That would soothe me. Right now I have none of that. Friends are always welcome, but I need more than that. Something to make me feel alive and worthy. Please. I want to feel that again. Please.

I don't expect this one to make a whole lotta sense. After downing five glasses of wine and a cranberry and vodka, on an empty stomach, things don't make much sense. But they sure are funny. Carlitos and I went to Mario Panoptika's apartment for this welcome bash. Nice little place near the university. Lots of people I don't know but hey, they were cool. Laughed a lot. Carlitos and I were the evening's heroes apparently. We came, we saw, we conquered. It was nice if S. was there. Needed someone to share the good vibes. I was tipsy but hey, it is nice.

Before that, the radio show. As far as shows go, we had to improvise a lot, but we're pros dammnit and we pulled it off nicely. Got some choice Enrique Bunbury tunes to like. So it went beautiful.

I'm eating something and drinking lots of water. No hangovers for tomorrow. It was a really good evening. Joy de Vivre, I guess. Seized the moment and enjoyed it at it's fullest.

Night night.

Ok here's the latest antartica release. Buy in mass quantities. The shape of things to come. Something to give you while we get together and record with the proper band. I'm happy with it. Looking forward to the new stuff. Aside from that, well, if you happen to read this often (thanks and dare I call you a masochist/voyeur?), you know my usual needs, woes and worries. Let's just see if things change in those aspects.

Last night......

Met Pri, Bernice, Ian and Carlitos at the Blue Agape Bar to see Herman (aka the man searching for fun) spin. Really cool place. Killer tunes by Mr. Herman. Went for a quick one at Enlaces so Pri could see Amado and Over. Pri is a proud auntie of a boy. Hope to see him today. Real cute boy. S. was off at the movies watching "Road To Perdition". Wish I could see the movie. Let's see what the weekend holds.

On the way home, Bernice and I had one of our conversations regarding relationships, it was intense. New Order on the background and all. During it I said something that it was really hard to say because I was trying to hold back some tears. "What I really, really want in life, is someone who understands and accepts me for what I am, and I understand and accept her in return. I love music and I always will, but I cannot feel truly happy nor complete without that in my life."

Just finished watching "Monster's Ball". Wow. Really good film.

I wished I could talk to S right now. There are few moments when I really fell good. Playing with the band, hanging out with my friends, or just sitting down talking with S. Yeah I need love and affection, but I also need the company. Sometimes I just feel lonely. Really lonely. I sometimes walk the streets by myself. Just to get that away. Sometimes I create music. Music being one of my outlets. But sometimes I don't have that at hand or it's not enough. I need to feel a voice or chat with someone who understands you, who gets it. I also need to listen. Dialogue. Interaction. I really miss that. If you're reading this, I appreciate the fact that you take the time to see me and talk. I really enjoy your company. I don't want to blow it. Let me know because I don't want to be a bother. Thanks. Take care.

I think I'm going bed after I watch another movie.

Take care,

Last night's gig

Aleph - Blues and some stoner rock. They're ok but they don't move me as much. Oh well.
Ongo - Live they're so much better than on the record. Really intense and energetic.
Polbo - I loved their mp3's and they're so much better and funnier live. Think the Pixies kicking Weezer's ass for their lunch money. Great harmonies, solid songwriting, nice timing on the song. I was very impressed.

Went to see S. She was a bit sick but it was good seeing her. Kitipri's big sis is giving birth today.

Rehearsal today with Antartica. Really cool. A couple of new songs and everyone's happy. Tomorrow I'm going to see Aleph, Polbo and Ongo. Polbo and Ongo are great. I haven't seen Aleph yet. Also seeing the lovely Ms. S. Hopefully. :) Creative wise I'm doing ok and that's the way I like it.

It's official! The Musique Concrete Ensemble remix is done. It's called Sylvie's Dub. You can download sample of it here. Enjoy!

My friend Kitipri is in town and she's going to be an auntie. Yay! So we've got some clubbing to do.

Which David Bowie are you?

And then you wonder why "Heroes" is my favorite Bowie album and "Ashes To Ashes" is my favorite song.

Rehearsals with Golpe Justo went very well. Lots of fun and screaming. The way I like it. Had to deal with some unpleasantness with management after the DJ gig with Jorge Castro, but hopefully, that will pass. If not, well, that's life. I don't need the aggravation. Hopefully it will all be sorted out.

Finally finished "American Gods". Loved it. Not as good as "Neverwhere", but really good Gaiman. I still think the Marquis de Carabas as my favorite Gaiman literary character. Of course my favorite Sandman character is the most cheerful sibling of The Endless: Death.

The gig with Golpe Justo. Man! I got all that pent up energy and unleashed it on everyone. We were jumping and singing and just fucking having a blast. Beautiful. Sheer catharsis.

Went out with Bernice, Carlitos and S. over to Blue Jeans to watch Oruga and Macrodelirio. Oruga as always kicks ass. Macrodelirio sounds too much like other bands for me to like. Had a really productive day and an enjoyable evening. Finished a song with Bernice and created another one and the evening went fine. I got over the pinkeye btw. Medicated aggressively. Gone. Today got a rehearsal with Golpe Justo and another DJ set with Jorge Castro. Busy busy busy. My heart races whenever I see her, but I need to be patient.

Just came back from DJing at Candela along with Noel Villegas. Much better and shorter set. It was fun mixing some original material with stuff from Curve and 2 Long Swordsmen. Went over to S's place to drop her a couple of CD's. Saw her flat (as in apartment you sods!). Nice little place she has. Lovely woman she is. *Smiles* Haven't felt like that for a while. Maybe she's the reason I actually got to do a really cool DJ set. Had some people and several lovely ladies dancing. Yes. Impressed. Heh. Thanks to Iohann and Mica for dropping me in the nick of time. Noel also DJd a killer set. Some really cool tunes. Flipped when I heard Wire's "Ahead". Haven't heard that one in a loooooong while. The Band of Susans cover was good too. Managed to burn another cd for S. Probably will give it to her this Friday. Let's see what happens this weekend.

Tomorrow and Friday are going to be so hectic. I better hit the sack. G'night.

Saturdayyyyyyyyyyy

Woke up in an extremely cheerful mode. "I feel so extraordinary" . New Order indeed. Went to the station to download more plugins for my machine. Cool. Carlitos was on his way to pick me up to the gig. Vicious rain. Both of us made it to soundcheck. Bernice and Jorge were on their way and the soundman was a fucking idiot even though there was no one at the venue. Bernice and Jorge arrived, we did an improptu soundcheck and played 4 songs. It was cool and funny as hell.

Then it was off to eat some chicken pinchos (shish kebabs for all of you out there) and talk with the band. Then back to the venue to go to Barfly. I did a DJ set and the guys wanted to play so.......they played a set by themselves while I took a little break and then we all got together to play after a set. It was fun but I was saddened by internal shit that I have to resolve. Things have the potential for the better and I see the wave coming. I gotta ride it and ride it well. Can't afford to crash this time. I kinda went off to my mates for a while but I quickly apologized and told them it was not my fault. I was going through some akward thought process and I needed to sort it out. It took some sleep and time with my friends Alberto, Robert and Alex the next day (today).

Just being with four guys who I've been forever with, playing an RPG and laughing our asses off at our wisecracks took that bad feeling off. Catch that wave and ride it. Go with the flow. I'll suceed and ride to the sunset when the credits roll.

S called me and I'm glad she liked the mixed cd I gave her. I have to burn her a CD of Antartica stuff again. Snafu? Don't know. What I do know is that I gotta burn her some more stuff probably Chuck E. Weiss, more Dog Faced Hermans. Shoot I should get that live album and burn her a copy. It's that good. On that note, got Antipop Consortium's Arrhythmia CD from Hip Hop Vox's Tek 9. Damn! those New Yorkers are good. Gotta burn him Techno Animal so he can get some of that.

On a technical note: The Rioport CD player is the shiznit. Nice piece of technology to play with. Thanks Miguel for lending it to me for the DJ set. Carlitos is off this week for a well deserved vacation. Playing with Golpe Justo this Tuesday and Sunday. Gotta burn a mix for Wilfredo's performance on Sunday. Keeping myself busy. Good.

Cut. :D

What A Day!
Morning to afternoon >>> sending packages paying bills getting my haircut
afternoon >>> going to noctambulo and trying to track down noel for a dj gig
evening >>>> what can I say?

First off, I'm sorry for being late but a situation held me down and I left a message to give a call to S. but to no avail. Once I met her. Man! God you're so much beautiful up close and personal. I was in awe for the rest of the evening. Had drinks at Hard Rock. It was good to see you blush. Then we headed off for Transylvania for dinner. Dinner was good. Conversation much better. It's great to know that there's someone out there in your age group that you can relate to. Smart, witty, cool observations about life, travel, music. Wow. Eventually even though we sort of had to deal with an improptu flooding, nothing serious, mind you, we had to call it a night. Walked her home and we just talked. Nice. Relaxed. Laid back. Nice evening, said our goodbyes nice kiss and a hug. I actually look forward to meeting you again. I enjoyed it. I haven't felt this good in awhile. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to meet the funny, intelligent, witty, sensitive, smart, well educated person that you are and have a great weekend! :)

Afterwards I headed back to Hard Rock Cafe to see Icaro Azul. Good as always then meet Andy and Juan. More drinks (on their end) I only had a beer afterwards. TabaCo sucks so much it's not even funny. Then again it's just my opinion. Left for Barfly. Finally got to see Andy's exhibition. Nice pictures, love Ingrid's portrait. Met Jose Ramon and Javier Tous there. Not for long though. Went back home listening to Muse and Morbo. Muse are like Radiohead's really pissed off little brother and Morbo are a Mexican New Order mixed with a bit of Smashing Pumpkins.

All in all a good day. Gig and DJ thingie tomorrow. Happy happy joy joy. :)

Later tonight. Hopefully we'll meet. We'll take it from there. Just eager to meet her. Rehearsals with Antartica are going fantastic. Beautiful music being done. Really cool vibe. Gig on saturday. Probably DJing @ barfly later that evening. It doesn't stop.

Extremely happy. Phoned her again. Hopefully getting together. Soon. Got some stuff for her. Hope she likes them. It's really cool to be able to talk with someone. Even if it's for five mintues. Looking forward to it. Sampled some stuff for my friends of Golpe Justo and even managed to sang (or scream actually) with them. That was really cool and cathartic. I miss them lots and it was a good fime for all involved. Show on Saturday. Possibly another rehearsal tomorrow and looking forward to chat wth her. Yes. Happy. Thank you.

It's the fist time in awhile that I'm happy. Happy because I talked to her even for a short while. Because for the first time in awhile, someone actually wants to meet me. S Dearest:

Thanks for bothering to read this. I think it'll give you and idea of me, whether for good or bad. This is me. Raw. Naked. Not literally. :) I am hardly perfect as you can see, but I'm trying to have some redeeming qualities. Working on them :D. I am happy to know that I make you smile, that I cheer you up. I want you to know that you do the same and a lot. I look forward to meet you. I look forward to talk to you. I look forward to brighten your day. Yes, I do write about you because you are the brightest spot in my life of late. I want you to know something. The way you are, the things you say, the joy you bring to me, those things make me become a better person. Gives me a better outlook. Gives me strength and hope. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. It's not an incoming train this time. I just want to do right. Fingers crossed. Chin up.

Yes your company is appreciated. Yes you are a lovely woman. Yes you make me smile and blush. A lot. I haven't had this kind of attention and I love to return the favor. I want you to feel free to talk about whatever you want. I want you to feel free to share whatever you want to share. I want you to know that I'm there for you. I look forward to see you smile. Yesterday was supposed to be our gig at Don Pablo
when we arrived there, their air conditioning system was broken
so it was a hothouse. No way. Not for the kind of money they were paying
So we said fuck it. We went to our usual dive for some late night din din.
The cook was off that day.
So...
We went to the nearest 7-11, bought some drinks and some munchies
went back to the bar, and hung out there for awhile
It was ok. But the day was the shits darling.

On Friday, June 28th, Live365 will be announcing a new Royalty Administration Fee that applies to all Personal Broadcasts. This fee will go towards the Digital Sound Recording Performance (DSRP) royalties, as well as legal and other administrative fees incurred. There will be a grace period of 30 days before the fees go into effect.

Stay tuned for details. We might be fooked. Plan B for the broadcast will soon be in effect.

Rehearsals are coming fine. Cathartic and good. I just met this person and I already miss conversations with her.
They're that good. Tomorrow meeting at the station and somehow re-writing an old song lost in the crash.
It's gonna be sort of a long day and I need some rest. Managed to find a solution in case live365 goes down with the
online royalties for internet radio. I have a contingency plan in a worst case scenario.
I also hunger for some cool conversations, and good company.

What a weekend. Death came for a visit. First Dee Dee Ramone, now an acquaintance's close relative. You could see both of them coming but still it has an effect. Meanwhile I'm trying to come to terms with situations that need to change. I've never been a comformist and I think I'll never be. I can't settle for anything less. I can't be a fucking sheep and be passive about things I care about. Too many sheeps-in-human clothing here anyway. Still I've got a few friends who unknowingly give me a lot to look for. My homies. I love you. I can't let things get to me. Not trivial things. Change is a constant. I must seize it and enjoy the ride. No sense in wasting time in minutiae. Whether it is situations or just people. They're not worth it. There's a life that needs to be lived and enjoyed at it's fullest. There are things to look forward to. There are people to meet. There are shows to be played. That's more than most people have and enjoy. I wouldn't have it any other way.

last night she said she wanted to kiss me
even though we seldom talk
and i didn't
cause she was high
and she was stinky
and all she wanted was a ride
and some money to score
and i laughed it all up
cause life is sometimes like that
then found my ride
cranking up my bloody valentine
and zero seven
awash in bliss riding home in silence
till the edge of dawn
then i hit the sack
and dreamt of me and my ride
kissing each other
recurring theme isn't it?

wish i had someone
i could really kiss
and listen to loveless
in complete and utter bliss
